Sunset at First Beach

This was my first time at First Beach. We made it just in time for sunset. We were all jabbering away in the van waiting to see the beach. We came around a bend and everyone was silent. Trees lined the road and when we could finally see the waters and the rock stacks it was....beyond amazing.

On the road...

We took the ferry from edmonds across to kingston (?). It was a lot of fun! I've never been on one before so this was a first. It was pretty cold out on the water. When we crossed back I was sure to wear a long sleeve shirt. (My shirt says: Emmett Cullen eats Democrats for breakfast)

This is the other ferry coming back across. There were a lot of sail boats out on the water too. It was really gorgeous.

We stayed up high were we could see everything. I think all of us wanted to see every bit that we could.

This is at Discover Bay where mom and aunt Di stayed when they were in Seattle in July. I love this picture of us. I picked up a few sea shells before we left - Aidan loves them!

The Hoh National Forest

We hiked/walked through the Hoh Forest on Friday. It was - like everything else in Forks - amazingly beautiful! We chose the Hall of Moss for our walk.
This is our vampire picture! In the book, Edward runs with Bella on his back through the forest. This was our attempt. Run Manda! Run!

This is our group. Sadly - mommy couldn't come with us on our walk. But she met up with us in La Push for lunch. We got there early enough that we made it before most of the twilightmoms started through.

Thanks to Heather for pointing out this shot for me. The moss was amazing on these trees.

I have a gazillion pictures from the Hoh forest. It was gorgeous!

Seattle, WA

Pikes Place was an awesomely huge market that had anything and everything! We stopped there on our way to Forks. We were ahead of schedule and decided to get some fruit. It was some of the best fruit ever. I hadn't realized how big it all was until we took an elevator down 6 levels of the market, crossed a street and took another 6 flights down to the waterfront part of the market place.

He was cute. What can I say? This is wear I got Aidan's awesome Pirate gear. It was a fun shop.

We ate at the Crab Pot before heading home. It was really good - but the company was better!

This was the clearest shot of the Space Needle we got. The other ones were from the car. I was glad I at least got to see it a little bit.

Before we left we got to see this gorgeous sunset from the pier.

Port Angeles, WA

For those who have not read Twilight - Port Angeles is the little town where Edward and Bella have an...interesting conversation.

She gets lost when she is walking around town and turns down alleys and ends up in the industrial part. There were a lot of these creepy little alley ways - but they were really cool too!

I just liked this sign! :) It was down one of the alley ways near the scientific church.

There was a massive staircase I climbed to get this picture. It was really beautiful. Thats Canada across the water.

Forks

This Bed & Breakfast in town was actually called The Cullen House. They left these notes on the whiteboards for the tourists. Kinda cute!

Its a beautiful B&B. But I thought our cabin was amazing!

Heather was our Bella for the weekend. This was the Swan house so we had a little vogue session out front.

This is where Bella worked in the books. Its the epitome of a small town store. It was broken into 3 parts - the first, a grocery store, the middle part was clothes and shoes, the right end was like a general store with decorating things and such.

Here is the hospital for you twilighters. The ER. The entire hospital looked like an urgent care. Insane! It was so small.

Edward was right...

He definitely isn't the most dangerous thing in the woods.

La Push

I have quite a few posts with pictures from First Beach. Sorry - I'm obsessed.

The mist on the beach was amazing. I love it. Definitely not California.
This is Charlotte and I. She was our group organizer for our small group 3 (Shout out!)

Surfers? I didn't even know they were out there until they were at the waters edge. You couldn't see a thing. They were camping on the beach that night. I fully intend to camp on the beach with Jeff one of these days.

Stephenie Meyer Day

Saturday was Forks' first Stephenie Meyer day. It was a lot of fun. They had a look a like contest, twilight vendors, drawings, birthday cake for Bella. There was some serious cash spent in that little town!

Amanda, Heather and I by Bella's truck. Heather obviously felt too cool to wear her TwilightMoms nametag. :)

They also had tours of Forks High School. It was smelly - but fun! I forget what schools smell like. The high school has recently been deemed unsafe and they are looking for donations to make some repairs. All of the money that was donated this weekend from drawings and chamber purchases were going to help the school.

This is our TwilightMoms group pictures. There were a ton of us able to go! You can see mom on the far right, 3rd row up. I'm on the truck holding the sign and Amanda and Heather....I don't know. I couldn't see them when I was in the truck either! :)

Of course we had to have a picture by Chief Swan's car.

Bonfire at La Push

Saturday night we went back to La Push for a bonfire and to listen to the Quileute story teller. It was cold, but everyone was having too much fun to worry about it. It was so foggy that we couldn't see the nearest island. It was amazingly gorgeous. It really added to the atmosphere when we listened to the stories of the Quileutes.

We had such a blast! This was my first beach bonfire and I loved it. If only Jessica would have been there... :)

Heather, Amanda, Me and mom by the bonfire. We attempted to roast marshmallows, but it was so incredibly hot when you were close enough to the fire that when you were within arm's reach you could almost feel it singe your eyebrows! But it was so much fun and I wouldn't have rather been anywhere else.

This poor Quileute kid! He was just minding his own business eating chili and fry bread at the indian dance and made the critical mistake of wearing a leather jacket and carrying his helmet (that is what Jacob - Quileute - wears in the book) and the girls started going crazy. One of the TwilightMoms finally asked him if he knew why the ladies were going crazy. He had no clue. She told him and he thought it was pretty cool. I was sitting next to an older lady that though he was so hot that she made me get my picture taken so I could send it to her just for her to look at him! Of course I obliged and I must admit...I'm turning into a little bit of a Jacob fan.

Forks

Here is a little appetizer.
Seriously - to even attempt to put into words the amazing....perfection of this town and La Push would be a ridiculous attempt. Let me put it this way - Jeff will be saving a lot of money now because I would rather go back to Forks and La Push instead of London anyday. I'll put more pictures on here and when I actually get home I'll put some on my photography page as well.

We went to First Beach every day we were there. I'm so glad that we did. It was my favorite part. Aside from Forks being my new favorite town - completely ignoring anything Twilight - the La Push beach is my favorite place to be. I kept wishing my husband and boys could be with me.

Of course we went to Bella Italia in Port Angeles. It was about 45 minutes away and well worth the drive. The food was amazing! They were all out of mushroom ravioli (what Bella had in the book). I had fetuccini carbonara and it was the best I have ever had. I did get to have a coke though. I'll also point out something I'm sure you will all notice...Washington is not kind to my hair or face. :)

This is at First Beach, of course. Saturday night there was a bonfire and the Quileute story teller told stories. Our group started our own bonfire on the beach and it was massive!!

I knew they were real!!! This is the sign at the Forks Hospital. Now you have proof...

Gone, Baby Gone...

If your child hasn't taken scissors to their hair yet...they will. Aidan has had trains stuck in his, cut a small chunk that I - at the time - thought was awful. I had to trim his hair. Today I stuck him in the bathroom to well...ya know. Anyway - later on I went in and there were beautiful locks of hair the color of wheat at noonday. I looked at Aidan's hair and noticed a nice sized chunk out of the top of his hair. So I trimmed his hair again and noticed larger, close to the skin chunks taken out. Daddy then stepped in and did the dirty work while mommy tried to hide her crying.

Aidan was okay when they first started. It tickled and he didn't mind it so much. He just kept moving around making it more difficult for Jeff to do it.

Still okay. Jeff is obviously enjoying this. After Aidan saw what was going on in the mirror he started crying saying he wanted his hair and he didn't want to look like Harry.

This has been a traumatic thing for me. Everytime he comes into the room or I walk in on him I almost scream. He looks absolutely adorable, he just doesn't look like my Bob anymore! Jeff had to shave his head after this so he and daddy can have the same hair. He even has the same hair as Gramps!!! We'll have to make sure we get a picture of the bald guys when they go to Mississippi this week! :)
