We had Aidan's party today. I'm really happy with how it turned out. We invited 6 of his greatest friends and their parents (though the dad's wussed out!), had hot dogs, cake and ice cream, presents and a lot of fun. I didn't plan any games because I didn't want to stress myself. And it worked because I had a great time. Mom was able to come up for the party and I know both the boys were super excited about that!
Aidan had to have a Transformer cake and party theme. He has been huge into them ever since Jeff introduced him to the great toys of the 80's. He bought Aidan Optimus Prime and its been a ride ever since.It was a gorgeous day - but a little windy. How many mom's does it take to light birthday candles? In our case...4.
We had a Pinata (Amy - I'll get you later for getting me in the picture) and everyone loved it. We had to keep the kids in their rightful places so everyone got a turn and no one got hit with the stick.
Aidan had some good whacks at it - but it was Coty (in the tye-dye) that smashed it open. The kids went nuts. Definitely had teh effect I was hoping for. Good job Coty!

thanks for inviting us to the party! just kidding, I know I had to work, couldn't you have made it later just for us! I am glad he had fun, even though his bestest friend wasn't there.
